Quote of the Week
Brought to you by…
I heard Elizabeth Gilbert speak last night at Benaroya Hall and… wow. So good. My friend, Suzy, and I went in without a clue in the world what she would be talking about but we both left inspired. She spoke about writing and art and the act of creating.
More to come on all of it, I’m sure, but for now, here’s a quote from her new book, Big Magic. It brought to mind all the angst I had (and still have) about saying, “I’m a writer.”
“Defending yourself as a creative person begins by defining yourself.
It begins when you declare your intent.
Stand up tall and say what you are.”
I’m a writer.
I’m reading that right now too! Pretty inspired so far.
